Joe graduated from Clairton High School in 1954 and went on to graduate from Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He then went to Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania for Accounting.
Joe met Angelika Rossmann in 1975, and they got married on August 19, 1977. Angelika had one daughter, age 15, when they got married. After a few years, Joe adopted Patty. When they got married, they lived in Munhall, Pennsylvania then they bought a house in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. They lived there until 2003 when they moved to Sun City Anthem in Henderson, Nevada.
Joe and his family enjoyed cruising, and going to Italy and Germany, where Angelika was born.
Joe worked at Matthews International, and he was their corporate accountant. He retired in 1997 before coming to Vegas.
Joe's favorite pastime was harness horseracing, watching football (Steelers) and baseball (Pirates). In Sun City, he played bocce and enjoyed all the parties at different clubs. When he was younger, he loved going to the gym to lift weights. He was a good friend of the famous Bruno Sammartino.
Our Lord called Joe on June 6, 2021. The day before he died, he told Angelika and Patty that he was talking to God and asked them to let him go with God. They knew then that it was his time.
Joe will be remembered for his kind and lovable personality and his readiness to drop everything to help another. He will be missed by all, and our love and memories will last forever.
His parents and an older brother, William, who passed away in 1992, preceded Joe in death.
Joe is survived by his wife, Angelika; daughter, Patricia; his older sister, Dorothy Pastore, who lives in Ohio; a younger sister, Arlene Fortunato, who lives in Henderson, Nevada; and he was the uncle to three nephews, six nieces, five great-nieces and two great-nephews.
