John Noel Workman August 9, 1954 - April 2, 2014 John Workman was a man that could initially intimidate you, but once you got to know him-he was fun. He was born in Wadsworth Ohio to Mary Kate and Nick Workman. He volunteered for the army at a time when many were trying to avoid such service. The Vietnam War was winding down and he ended up serving over seas in Germany. He spoke fondly of his time there and the excellence of their beer. He was a member of the Spring Mountian Free Trappers and loved the history that it represented during the colonial times of America. He had many "brothers by another mother" in that group as well as the motorcycle club that he joined: the U Guys. He took a turn as president along with many of his brothers who gotten voted into the position (usually when the candidate was away from the main party on a beer run and couldn't object tot the nomination). He had love of a good story whether it was told to him or he read it it i a book. He was passionate about J.R.R. Tolkien and he passed that love to his children and grandchild with both the books and then the movies when an adaption that he could finally get behind finally came to the screen. He was loved by many, especially by his friends and family. He instilled in his daughters the gifts of strength, caring and intelligence (also a certain lackadaisical attitude about housework). His grandchild was one of the great joys of his life. He was also fortunate to have the love of the two amazing women that he married: Kimberly and Paula. Kimberly was the love of his youth and Paula the love of his maturity. His life touched many people as was evidenced by the many who came to his room on his final days in the hospital. He died on April 2, 2014. He is survived by his sister Mary Ellen, his wife Paula, his stepson Bryan, his daughters Heather and Nicole, and his granddaughter Kimber.
