It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the passing of John David Skilbred, born July 16, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio. John went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the age of 59 years young. John always said he was honored to serve 20 years with the United States Air Force as well as his subsequent work as a civilian employee with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He was passionate about his family and is survived by his loving wife Vicky; brother Don (and Kris); sister Yvonne; mother Sara; four daughters Jerry, Jacqui, Sara, and Sasha; son William; two grandsons Kaden, and Kai; and a host of extended family and friends.
He had an amazing range of interests, including a master designation in scuba diving, hiking and running before defeated by back issues, travel, ancestry, technology, solar energy, electronics, ham radio, performed in a high school band, sang in school and the Air Force and loved music in its many form. He never told many people, his deep personal faith resulted in him becoming an Ordained Minister.
Services are being held Monday, May 21, 2018 at 10 am at the Boulder City Veterans Cemetery.
