John was raised in West Morland City, Pennsylvania and attended Norwin High School where he met his soulmate and the love of his life, Sharon M. (Rayman) Rees. On October 25, 1962, John married his high school sweetheart Sharon M. (Rayman) Rees.In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, four wheeling, target shooting, drag racing, and most of all his corvettes. John joined the military in 1962, serving 22 years 5 months and 6 days in the United States Air Force, ending his military career at Nellis Air Force Base as a Master Sergeant. While in the Air Force John served a tour in the Philippines and was deployed to the Vietnam War. After retirement he went to work at the Nevada Test Site as an Electrical Inspector. He then retired after 20 years to enjoy life with his wife and family. He is preceded in death by (Father) John A. Rees, (Mother) Ruth Bower Rees, (Sister's) June Redding, Mary Ruth Elliott, Lydia Ann Curry. John leaves to cherish his memories to his family (wife) Sharon M. Rees of Las Vegas, Nevada, (Brother) David Rees of North Huntington, Pennsylvania, (Son) John A. Rees II of Las Vegas, Nevada, (Daughters) Cindy L. Brackenridge of Crestview, Florida, SherryLee R. Standen of Kiowa, Colorado, Deborah Young's-Graves of Las Vegas, Nevada. (Grandchildren) Alphonso L. Youngs of Ventura, California, Jennifer Miller of Henderson, Nevada, Brittany Fairchild of Sandia Park, New Mexico, Brezana Elloitt of Phenix City, Alabama, Sheila Marentes of Henderson, Nevada, Veronica Mills of Firestone, Colorado, Angelia Wallen of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Cody Bradberry of Waverly, Virginia, John A. Rees IV of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jamie Rees of Las Vegas, Nevada, Vienna Dougher of Las Vegas, Nevada, and 10 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
