John Eugene Pipitone, 88 of Candler passed away in Las Vegas on December 12, 2021 after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family whom he loved dearly. He has made his way home to be with his beloved wife Nancy.
John is survived by his daughter Catherine, three grandsons, Rick, John, and Christopher; and four great-grandsons, Ricky, Jameson, Christopher, and Benjamin.
John served proudly as a Marine during the Korean War and afterward retired from the Asheville Police Department after just over 30 years of service. In his own words “I was a dedicated police officer and did my job to the best of my ability for the community I served. The Asheville PD will always have a place in my heart.”
John will always be remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was fiercely dedicated to his family, friends, and country. He and all his stories will be missed.
A funeral service for John will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Palm Southwest Mortuary, 7979 W. Warm Springs Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89113. John will be buried next to Nancy at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher, North Carolina.
