John Paul Ledoux, 91, died at his home on November 27, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving and devoted husband for 59 years to the late Regina (Lenkiewicz) Ledoux who passed in 2016. John was predeceased by his daughter, Diane Ledoux, in 2005 and his son, Anthony Ledoux, in 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Blanche (Monfette) Ledoux as well as his three brothers, George, Marcel, and Arthur Ledoux and a sister, Theresa Gallagher. He is survived by his youngest brother and wife, Roger and Donna Ledoux and his sisters-in-laws, Florence Noren and Betty Ledoux. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins and will forever be in their hearts.
John Paul was born in St. Laurent, Quebec, Canada and held dual citizenship in the U.S. and Canada. He spent his early life in Connecticut with his parents and siblings. He enlisted in the service where he served as a Navy hospital corpsman, assigned to the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. John Paul was cited for his heroic combat actions during the battles in 1953 for Outpost Vegas and Outpost Carson where thousands of American soldiers lost their lives. After his military service, John returned to CT and married Regina from New Britain, CT in 1957. Using the G.I. Education Program, he obtained degrees from The Porter School of Tool and Machine Design. In addition, he was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Science in Business Administration Degrees from California Western University. He made his lifetime work as a Design Engineer in Tooling, Mechanical and Product Design. He moved his family out to Anaheim, CA and was joined shortly after by his parents, who settled in Costa Mesa. He was a great asset to the companies where he was employed, working on a number of patents. He retired from Hughes Aircraft Co. in Long Beach, CA.
John and Reggie relocated to Las Vegas, NV in 1993. They built a lovely home in a friendly golfing community where they acquired countless friends. He was a devout Catholic joining the parish of St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church. He was previously a member of the Knights of Columbus where he played a very active role. He was a craftsman as well, designing and making unique pieces of furniture and other wooden crafts. He loved the game of golf and will be remembered fondly by his golfing buddies and other friends of the Los Prados Community. John was also an avid card player and will be missed by his friends at the Santa Fe Station Casino poker room. John was an outgoing and sincere individual and everyone who knew him will never forget his lively conversations and great sense of humor.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 8-10 am at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2575 W. El Campo Grande Avenue, North Las Vegas, NV 89031. Burial with
military honors by the U.S. Marine Corp. will follow back at Palm Northwest Mortuary at 1:00 pm.
