SMSGT JOHN MULLIGAN JR. U.S. Air Force, Retired John "Jack" Mulligan Jr., 62, entered into eternal life suddenly May 20, 2012. He was born Aug. 14, 1949 to John E. Mulligan Sr. and Eleanor Armstrong Mulligan in Philadelphia. He remained a faithful Philadelphia sports fan. He was a decorated U.S. Air Force senior master sergeant who was stationed in Las Vegas from 1982 until he retired in 1987, after a 20-year career serving his country. He graduated from Father Judge High School in Philadelphia, and received his BS from UNLV and his masters from the University of Phoenix. He loved his second career as a teacher of students with special needs at Rose Warren Elementary School, Helen Marie Smith Elementary School, Guy Elementary School, Centennial High School, and Saville Middle School from 1992-2010. In Jack's bright blue eyes, family were friends and friends were family. He was preceded in death by his father, John "Jack" Edmund Mulligan Sr.; mother, Eleanor Theresa (Armstrong) Mulligan; and brother, Michael Mulligan. He was a devoted and loving husband to Michele (Feeney) Mulligan, for 34 years; to sons, Nathan (Loreen Pizzella Mulligan) of Las Vegas and Daniel of Reno; granddaughters, Bella and Bridget; sisters, Eleanor (Jay) Poor of Harwich, Mass., Martha (Jeff) Gibbons of Hollis, N.H., and Mary (Michael) Mitchell of Penndel, Pa. He also leaves behind his aunt, Winifred Hughes; sisters-in-law, Montey Cimoch (John), Lois Feeney and Toby Zufryden; brothers-in-law, Kevin, Brian and Barry Feeney; 12 nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and nephews; and so many cousins and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 26, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Graveside services will be at noon, Tuesday, May 29, Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. In lieu flowers, donations may be made to Decibels Foundation, Concord, Mass., or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
