This is indeed a sad day for all of us. We have lost such a great person. I think sharing our grief would help us ease our burdens. My cousin, John Lothar Gernhuber, age 34, unexpectedly left our lives on March 27, 2012. He was born on December 1, 1977 in Hayward, California to the parents of Lothar Gernhuber and Rubymira Pacis Gernhuber. He has a younger brother, Garry Gernhuber. John grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada where he attended Green Valley High School. He lived a very independent life, which he loved so much. He enjoyed playing video games, outdoor activities such as jet skiing, having a great time with friends and family, the night life and traveling. His travels eventually brought him to the Islands of Hawaii where he lived on the Island of Maui for nine years where he worked for a transport company. Time came when he started to make visits to his hometown here in Las Vegas. He finally moved back in the Fall of 2010, where he worked at the fabulous Cosmopolitan Hotel and Resort. John was such a character. He had such a personality that no matter what was going on, you knew you would have a great time. He knew to be serious at times and joke around as well. As a friend he was also very dear. He always found time to be with his friends. He was a very loyal and kind friend. He was also very polite; he was the kind of man who always opened doors for ladies. He could be very immature at times but that’s just because he was a kid at heart. Even though we are all grieving, let us all be thankful for all the special moments that John has left us. And with that, I hope that John will continue to live on within our hearts and minds.
