Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of Morris and Minnie (Baker) Wolberg. Joan graduated Weaver High School in Hartford in 1960 and Cazenovia College in New York in 1962. Joan worked for the Connecticut Company, Scott Paper Company, and Xerox Corporation. Her career with Xerox took her to New York, California, Arizona, and Las Vegas. Besides her parents, Joan was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Sheila (Wolberg) and Joseph Cohen, and several cousins. Joan is survived by her nieces, Debra Cohen of West Hartford, CT, and Sarah (Cohen) Herzig and husband Neil of Dunwoody, GA, and her nephew Brian Cohen and wife Deborah (Greeson) of South Windsor, CT, as well as grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and friends. Joan was strong and independent and rose to management at Xerox. Joan was kind, loyal, and generous as was evidenced by the many friends and family members who loved her. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 2pm, officiated by Joan’s cousin, Cantor Richard Wolberg at the John Hay Memorial Park Cemetery, 999 Garden St. off Tower Avenue in Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Las Vegas Valley Humane Society, lvvhumane.org, or Congregation Ner Tamid, lvnertamid.org. Joan will be forever in our hearts.
