In 1939, at the start of World War II, Joan’s mother moved her and her two sisters, Pauline and Doreen to Swaffham, England where they lived with their grandfather.
As a member of the United States Army, Paul Prince Sr was stationed in England. While there, he met Joan and they married. In 1953, Paul Sr and Joan welcomed their first child, Joanna.
While Paul Sr continued his military deployment in Europe, Joan and Joanna left England via ship in early 1955 and moved to the United States. Paul met them in New York and took them to his family’s home in Kentucky. Later in 1955, Paul and Joan headed west, with the entire extended Prince family and settled in Southern California.
Joan and Paul Sr welcomed two additional children into the world, Paul Jr in 1956 and Dale in 1958. Joan and Paul Sr lived in Southern California until Paul Sr’s death in 2005. She then moved to Las Vegas, NV, where she remained until her death.
Joan was a devoted Christian, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a gifted artist and could “out knit” anyone.
Joan is survived by her three children, Joanna, Paul, and Dale; Paul’s wife, Donna, Joanna’s husband, Mike, seven (7) grandchildren, and twelve (12) great grandchildren, with the 13th on the way.
Joan was a big supporter of animal rescue causes. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to:
