Joan Keyloun Erdman

Joan was born on February 20th, 1929, to doting parents, Edith and Fernando Fuentevilla and brother Emanuel, born six years prior, in Brooklyn, New York.

A remarkable beauty with unbridled energy from the beginning, Joan excelled in her academic pursuits, graduating with honors, from Bishop Macdonald H.S.

From early on, Joan's competitive spirit would take on any athletic challenge, playing stickball on the streets of Brooklyn, N.Y. to becoming an accomplished equestrian and swimmer.

Survived by children, Caryl A. Keyloun, Peter F. Keyloun, Mark A. Keyloun (Jennifer), John E. Keyloun (Robyn), stepchildren, William Erdman (Gloria), Bruce Erdman (Laurel), grandchildren, Brian P. Hughes (Wendy), Kyle P. Keyloun, Katelyn Keyloun (Kristina), John W. Keyloun (Brienne), Erin Erdman Ortiz (Andrew) and John W. Erdman (Devon).

Preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Elias A Keyloun and husband of 24 years, Myer "Mike" Erdman, her sons, Theodore E. Keyloun, Paul E. Keyloun and brother Manuel Fuentevilla.

In 1947, at 18 years of age, Joan married her returning war veteran Elias. Eleven short years later there were six children whom she adored, focusing all her attention to raising, nurturing, and educating. Nothing was more important to her than ensuring her six children would graduate from college or university. Unexpectedly widowed at 54 years of age, Joan had the good fortune to meet Mike Erdman; they were soul mates.

Mike and Joan moved from the east to Sun City Summerlin in sunny Las Vegas where they shared 24 wonderful years, traveling, making friends, joining clubs and finding new interests in the community. Joan cherished her years tap dancing with the famous Sun City Tappers.

Joan's quick wit, generosity, and loving nature will be missed immensely by those who knew her.
