Joan Antoinette Brown, resident of Henderson, Nevada passed on December 12, 2017 at St. Rose Dominican Hospital-Siena Campus, of a short illness. She was 70 years of age. "Joan Antoinette and they call me Toni" was the handle a four-year-old used when introducing herself; she later grew up to be a cherished adult woman beloved by so many. Toni was born, raised and educated in Los Angeles, California. She developed long lasting bonds and relationships with family and friends. After graduation from UCLA Toni married Le Thead Brown on June 15, 1968; lifelong friends, Cookie, Lovida, Marion and Liz serenaded their AKA sister. In 1975, Toni and Le Thead moved to the bay area where she spent the major part of her 30-plus years career with Allstate Insurance. In 2002, Toni became a resident of Henderson, Nevada. Facts you may not know about Toni Brown: She was musically inclined and could play a clarinet, saxophone and violin. Toni had an alto voice and sang in the choir of Peoples Independent Church in Los Angeles. Toni was a avid 49er's fan; she was the godmother to Tuere Merrions Peres; Toni supported the prison ministry sponsored by her church Victory Missionary Baptist Church. Adjectives which best describe Toni Brown, beautiful, stylish, fearless, aggressive, dedicated and loyal. Toni Brown is survived by her husband, Le Thead; mother, June Collins; sisters, Janet Luck and Linda Collins; sister friend, Dorotha "Dottie" Robinson; and a host of cousins and good friends who brought her great fun and joy throughout her years. Her father Charles Earles preceded her in death in 1978.
