Jesse James Stokes

JESSE STOKES Jesse Stokes, 70, of Las Vegas, passed away suddenly July 23, 2010. He was born Feb. 23, 1940, in Saugerties, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Estella and Jesse James Stokes. Jesse grew up in Saugerties, N Y (Catskill Mountains) and moved to Las Vegas with his family in 1976. He was a bricklayer by trade, worked for many years at the Barbary Coast Hotel & Casino and was currently employed by the South Point Hotel & Casino. Jesse is survived by his wife, Janie Stokes; daughter, Kirsten Swords; son, Brody Stokes; and three grandchildren, Lane Stokes, Collin Swords and Colby Swords, all of Las Vegas. Jesse was an avid hunter, enjoyed his years of off-road racing and his time spent on Mount Charleston. Jesse will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at Palm Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89131.
