Jerry Allen King, age 79 a United States Air Force pilot and a retired TWA Captain passed away on December 20, 2016. He was born August 8, 1937 in Peru, Indiana and had been a resident of Nevada since 1997. Jerry loved traveling, sailing, painting and musical theatre. To say the least, he was a world traveler and an adventurer. He served in the USAF for 5 years during the Vietnam War followed by eleven years in the Air Force reserve as a Safety Officer at Hamilton Air Force Base. He then became a pilot for TWA in 1968. After flying around the world for TWA for 28 years, Jerry retired in Las Vegas, NV and married Ellen Grangaard in 1999. He and Ellen sailed their boat, “Grace” around the world from 1999 to 2014. Jerry will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Lenora King; his brother, John E. King; and his sister, Deborah Willis. Jerry is survived by his wife of 18 years, Ellen King; his two children, Jason and Erin King; two stepchildren, Douglas and Luella Grangaard; three grandchildren, Alexis Stajkowski, Chelsea Roof, and Sean Grangaard; three great-grandchildren, Jack and Chuck Roof and Anna Stajkowski. A Celebration of Life for Jerry Allen King will be announced at a later date.
