Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother

Jean Russo, age 81, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021. Jean was born

January 25, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York to Anthony and Lena Clemente, she was the youngest of four

Children.

After graduating Bushwick High School in 1957, she took her first job at an Insurance Firm. On

October 2, 1960, Jean married her High School sweetheart Anthony Russo. Shortly after they started

a family and became a devoted mother to their three children Steven, Maria and Caryn.

In 1976, she went on to become a Therapy Aide at Pilgrim State Psychiatric Hospital where she loved

caring for people. She was a selfless person who always wanted to bring joy to people’s lives. Our mom

was the most beautiful person inside and out with a smile that would light up a room. She was loved by

everyone.

Jean was a devoted wife and the most loving Mother in the world. She loved her family, but most of all,

she loved being a Grandma. Her grandchildren were the light in her life, and she was theirs.

She enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, gardening, walking on Sunken Meadow Beach and of

course playing her one armed bandits. She also enjoyed bowling on a league with her good friend Nancy

where she earned the nickname “Mean Jean” because she was petite but she could throw a mean left hand ball. They had so much fun they would laugh till they cried.

Jean was preceded in death by her father and mother and her son Steven whom she loved and adored. She is survived by her husband Anthony of 61 years, her daughters Maria and Caryn, her son in laws Nick and Bill and her seven grandchildren Brittany, Nico, Anthony, Joseph, Victoria, Dimitry, Gianni and a host of family and friends.

In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same, it broke our heart to lose you, you did not go alone for part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

Memorial donations can be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
