Janet Faucher, 77, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on February 7, 2015. She was born on February 14, 1937, in Wiccopee, New York, to Spencer and Grace Booth. Janet graduated from high school and then enlisted in the Air Force. While serving, she met Robert Faucher in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. On April 19, 1956 she became his lifelong bride and Valentine in Cape Cod. Janet retired from the Air Force when they decided to have a family. In 1957, their first son, Mark, was born, followed by Deborah (1959), Dirk (1961) and Curt (1968). Due to Robert’s career in the Air Force, they traveled all over the country. The family was stationed in Hawaii for six years, right after Dirk was born. At that time, Robert was deployed to Vietnam. During Robert’s deployment, Janet and her children went to upstate New York to be by her mother and other family members. Shortly after arriving in New York, Curt was born. When Robert returned from Vietnam, the family moved to Las Vegas, where Robert was stationed until his retirement from the Air Force in 1972. Janet’s favorite flowers were roses; wherever she lived, she had rose bushes. She loved animals and they were automatically drawn to her. She always had a dog and many times more than one. When her children were small, she would sketch pictures for them. She even made paper dolls for Debbie to play with. Her artistic ability was passed down to Debbie and then on to her grandchildren Jacob and Justine. Another thing Janet loved to do was to get dressed up and go out dancing with Robert. Every year they would get dolled up and go out for New Year’s Eve. She loved to go fishing and spending time out at Lake Mead with her family on their pontoon boat. Janet always tried to make the holidays special. The house was always decorated beautifully. Nobody went without whether there was money or not. A lot of times she would make presents for friends and family. She was very resourceful. Janet was a kind, loving and devoted wife and mother. She will be always cherished, dearly loved and greatly missed. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Eastern Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
