Janelle Jenkins, age 71, of Henderson, Nevada went home to the Lord peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2022. She was born in Bakersfield, California on January 25,1951 to Ruth Davis and Frank Daniels (both preceded in death). She was the second to the eldest of eight siblings: Charles (preceded in death), Phyllis, Phillip (preceded in death), Bruce, Prentice, Regina, and Carolyn. Janelle always admired her mother’s determination to become a nurse while raising eight children, which she attributes to her own work ethic. Janelle is survived by her three children, Johnny, Kim and David.
Janelle (President & CEO) founded The Emerald Agency in 1985. Emerald is a well-known and highly respected temporary and direct hire placement agency, specializing in the legal industry. Prior to establishing Emerald, Janelle held positions as an Executive Legal Secretary, Word Processing Manager and Manager of Information Technology for over ten years at several major law firms. As an IT Manager in the 1980’s, she was recognized as one of the first African American women responsible for overseeing large law firms’ technological needs and in charge of the integration of computers and discontinuation of typewriters for several law offices.
Janelle was raised in the church and lived as a God-fearing woman her entire life. She rededicated her life to Christ in 1977 and was a faithful Christian who ministered to any open heart willing to listen and receive the Lord’s good news and salvation. Over time, Janelle has devoted many years to visiting and praying with friends admitted to hospitals, volunteering in church and community events, facilitating bible studies and prayers meetings, as well as spreading the knowledge and acceptance of Christ’s love, salvation and His finished work on the Cross.
As an unapologetic Christian, Janelle’s love for God has led many of her family and friends to the Lord. Whenever someone had a problem or felt discouraged, she was quick to remind you of God’s words and promises. Even in her multiple battles with cancer, she never stopped leaning on the Lord knowing God is in control. Janelle would always say, “Many of God’s children will pass from cancer, disease and/or violence. It’s not how you die, but who’s you are when you leave this earth. I know where I’m going so cry out of one eye for me.”
Janelle’s Celebration of Life will take place virtually so all can partake and celebrate her life with a picture presentation. Come hear the inspiration she shared with family, friends and many in the legal industry. A virtual Celebration of Life ceremony for Janelle will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 5:00 PM.
2 Corinthians 5:6-8 (NIV) - 6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith and not by sight. 8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
