Jane's love of life did not come to an end with her death. She passed away on May 15th, 2022 at the age of 79 after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Her husband Jim was at her side. She has a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. She will always be remembered for her infectious smile.
Jane was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Leonard and Irene Hanson on January 26th, 1943. Being a child of a Naval Officer, Jane and her family had to move frequently to different cities and bases around the United States and even a couple years in Japan. She also spent a great deal of time with her grandparents and aunt in Britton, South Dakota, where her parents were from.
After her father retired from the Navy, the family moved to Chula Vista, California. Jane graduated from Hilltop High School in Chula Vista where she became a California Scholarship Federation Life - Member, and Captain of the Pom and Flag Squad.
She completed her Bachelor's degree at San Diego State University. Jane met her husband Jim Lange on a blind date, with mutual friends in 1984, and were married later that year. Their combined family consists of five children, Rob and Ryan Campbell, Kelly Lange Balistereri, Stacey Lange Carini, and Chris Lange. Jane is also survived by two brothers Jim and Jack Hanson, and eight grandchildren. Jane retired from Sears where she worked in many departments. One being hardware. Yes, she understood what goes into a tool box. She also worked in the carpet department, and finished her career in accounting.
After retiring in 1998, Jane and Jim moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota where they built the house that they had planed together for six years. Jane did the decorating.
In 2003, Jane and Jim moved to the Las Vegas, Nevada area to be closer to their son's and daughter's families that live in Arizona and California. Jane loved traveling with her husband using their timeshares to visit family and other places.
