Jane Frances Forbes

In 1974, Jane moved to Las Vegas, Nevada from Rockford, Illinois to raise her three children, Todd (who preceded her in death in 2011), Karin, and Krissy.

Jane was a Registered Nurse, and worked at Sunrise Hospital, and then with the Clark County School District for 34 years as a School Nurse and Medical Assisting Instructor, where she cared for, and inspired her students.

Jane was strong, bright, beautiful, and intelligent. Giving to others, and serving her community was important to her. She volunteered and served the community through leadership roles on boards, associations, and committees including the Teachers Health Trust, SkillsUSA, Community Lutheran Church, Good Samaritan Church, Homeowner Associations, and more.

Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends at her cabin in Utah, traveling, watching sporting events, puzzling, solving crosswords, watching her favorite gameshows, and celebrating life.

She is dearly missed and survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Karin and Jon Jones, and Krissy and Cameron Sorensen; three beloved grandsons, Parker, Tyler, and Derek, and her cherished nieces and cousins. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Her love of birds is a good reminder of Psalm 104.12, “Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they lift up their voices among the branches.” May she fly free in Heaven.
