In her new life she will be greeted at the Gates of Heaven by her husband Juan M. Duenas, Son John Earl Duenas, and Great-Grandson Cohen Apiag Negrito.
Jane Rivera Taitague Duenas of Malojloj, Inarajan, Guam, and resident of North Las Vegas, Nevada, was called to eternal rest by our Heavenly Father on February 20, 2023, at the age of 83.
She was born on June 3, 1939, in Hagatna, Guam to Francisco D. and Maria R. Taitague. Jane spent her life sharing her Love, Faith, dance, and music. She was the fifth child of eleven children. She had Seven brothers: Arthur, Peter, Fred, Roland, Frankie, Roy, and Joseph. She had three sisters: Julia, Elvira, and Jovita. She LOVED her family UNCONDITIONALLY.
Jane found her true love, soul mate, and partner for life, Juan Meno Duenas of Inarajan, Guam. They Married in San Miguel Catholic Church in Talofofo on June 6, 1959. They had shared 61 years of marriage.
Together they have seven children. Six daughters: Twins Norma & Karen, Phyllis, twins Darlene & Doreen, and Sherry. They had one son: +John.
She had a love for animals. Especially her dog, Max.
Jane was active in community service. She volunteered for after-school activities, events, and girl scouts. After her husband retired from the military, they moved back to Guam. She had worked for the American Red Cross after Typhoon Pamela hit Guam in 1976 and started a youth club. Jane was also a member of the Christian Mothers, Parish Council and participated on various church committees for San Isidro Catholic Church. Jane assisted the Cloistered Carmelite Nuns in Malojloj with their needs. She also taught Catechism on both the Mainland and in Guam. She helped as a community leader in the Government House with the First Lady's organization.
In 1994, Jane and her husband were presented an award by Senators of the Guam Legislature in recognition, "Family of the Year" on their 35th Wedding Anniversary Celebration. On June 8, 2019, they celebrated their 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary. They had received the award of recognition for demonstrating the values of love, determination, persistence, and selfsacrifice in marriage since 1959 by the 35th Guam Legislature, Committee on Rules.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents: Francisco D. and Maria R. Taitague; her reared parents: Pedro and Constancia Rivera, and her parents-in-law Juan Torres & Ana Paulino Meno Duenas.
Her love and memories will be cherished forever by her children & spouses: Norma D. & Edward Manglona, Karen D. Blas, Phyllis D. & Roy Reyes, Darlene D. & Bert Cruz, Doreen D. & Annette Aninzo, Sherry D. & Peter Perez; her 21 Grandchildren and 26 Great-Grandchildren. She is additionally survived by her God children, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, family, and friends.
