Jan Hamilton went home to be with Jesus on June 10, 2013. She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene, beginning at Westside Church in Wichita, Kansas. She attended Friends University in Wichita and Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern Nazarene University) in Bethany, Oklahoma. As a young girl, she dreamed of serving in the ministry as a pastor’s wife, and she was able to fulfill that dream in pastorates throughout Kansas and Southern California and finally at Las Vegas First Church of the Nazarene. There she found a loving church family and her final church home. She was a prayer warrior and prayed for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren by name each night. Upon moving to Las Vegas, she began playing for funerals for Palm Mortuary, a role she enjoyed as she was able, through her gift of music, to provide comfort to those who were grieving. She never knew a stranger, whether it was someone whom she had known for years or moments; she was able to put them at ease and share a quiet laugh or smile of encouragement with them. She is survived by her 2 sisters: Dorothy and Rosemary; her 3 daughters: Jennifer, Joni and Jill; her 6 grandchildren: Cristin, Lauren, Allison, Ryan, Drew and Bailey; and her 6 great-grandchildren: Tyler, Kaelin, Maddox, Emma, Kaylee, and Kiley and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and their families. Her life was her testimony. Well done thou good and faithful servant.
