Jim attended military school, St Francis of Assisi, then attended Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California.
Jim served the Navy in 1974, was stationed on the USS Hector and he was a Vietnam Veteran.
Jim built a business for many years called A-1 Towing servicing out of Anaheim, California. Later he and his wife moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. He learned a new trade working with the Bradley family companies as a glazier.
Jim enjoyed water skiing, fishing, camping, boating and off-road racing. He was known as a neighborhood watch; he enjoyed acknowledging walkers with a greeting and a smile. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand. There was not a stranger he would meet that he did not like.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents MGYSG Richard Frances Pickett and Marilyn Regina Colbert; stepmother Juliette Pickett; and stepfather Wilson Colbert.
He is survived by his wife Annabelle F. Pickett; sons Trevor A. Pickett, Jeremy R. Pickett and Christopher R. Sims; grandchildren Trevor Jr. and Addison Gonzalez Pickett; and siblings Debbie Karns, Shauna Jill Shackleton and Julian Christian Rusinek.
Jim will truly be missed by all.
