James graduated from the University of Detroit Law School in 1957, then entered the Marine Corps as a JAG Officer until 1960 when he became an agent for the FBI. He moved to Nevada in 1964 and was the City Attorney for Boulder City for several years. He then went into Private Practice in Las Vegas until his retirement in 2016.
James was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Ann and Elizabeth Ordowski; and his daughter Erin Ordowski Light.
He is survived by his son Ryan and wife April and grandson Clayton Ordowski.
