James Arthur Meigs, Jr. of West Las Vegas passed away on May 11, 2014. He was born on October 6, 1931 in Jababo Oriente, Cuba to parents James A. Meigs, Sr. and Minerva Meigs. He had resided in Las Vegas since 1993.
James was a highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam and Korean Wars. After retirement from the US Army, he obtained his Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Miami and his Masters Degree from the University of Oklahoma. He worked as an audit manager for the US Government in the former Panama Canal Zone and retired a second time. James then moved to Tucson Arizona where he obtained his certified public accountant license. He then moved to Las Vegas where he worked for Clark County as a business manager and retired for a third time.
James was preceded in death by sister Kathy Calaman. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Victoria, brother Robert Meigs of Sandersville, GA, daughter Rebecca of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Tania St. Louis of Tucson, AZ (Joe), grandchildren Matthew and Jack; son James (Sonia), grandchildren Jennifer and Sophia and many nieces and nephews
James greatest love and joy in life was his wife Victoria. He enjoyed nothing more than putting a smile on her beautiful face. His commitment and devotion to his family was unwavering.
