He was born on November 20, 1971 in Boulder City, NV to Gordon Bennett Gibbs Jr. and Alice May Harmon.
Jimmy married his highschool sweetheart, Danielle, in May of 1997. They had 2 beautiful daughters, Mercedes Quinn “Sadie” and Mikayla Leigh “Kay”, whom he treasured dearly.
Jimmy loved his sports, always playing basketball, football or baseball with his childhood friends at the local park. If he was not playing, he was betting a 5 on them at the Sports Book or watching his favorite teams at home with the kids- the Buffalo Bills, Florida Gators, Duke Blue Devils, Denver Nuggets, 51’s, Chicago Bulls, Pittsburgh Penguins, just to name a few.
He loved food and spent his career as a chef and never missed a chance to BBQ steak or throw together a stew when the colder weather came around. He loved Super Bowl Sunday and the Fourth of July, always throwing parties with his “brothers” Dusty and Donavan. You could always catch him drinking ice cold beers and causing trouble.
He was a PTA dad, always showing up to games to cheer everyone on and yell at the refs. You would hear “Come on, Blue” and knew exactly who it was every time. He was always volunteering with Mrs. Goldstein when field day came around and was always there to chaperone field trips. He had a very competitive spirit. Anytime there was a cookie dough sale or fundraiser at the school, he was always making sure that he was selling the most.
Jimmy loved Hard Rock and Metal music and could always hear him blasting 92.3 on the radio in his Chevy Blazer with the windows down.
Aside from his family, his favorite things in life included, Thanksgiving, the Eldorado Sports Book, Icehouse, Good & Plenty’s, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Slim Jims, Capriotti’s Bobbie Sandwich, wearing socks with sandals and his sports jerseys.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Alice; his brothers, Kelley, Benny, Bobby, Red, and Tager; his sister, Pam; and his nephew, EJ.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Danielle; his daughters, Sadie (Mike) and Kay (Orin); his grandchildren, Lilian Grace and Orion James; his siblings, Allene (Albert) Vassar, Patricia (Randy) Mazner, and Tony (Heather) Gibbs; his second parents, Bill and Liz Quartucci; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jimmy was a protector and will be deeply missed by everyone that loved him.
His Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 19th, 2023 at 11:00am at Hayley Hendricks Park, 811 Ithaca Ave. Henderson, NV 89015.
