James Byron Downs

James B. Downs, age 75 years, passed away on Tuesday January 30, 2024. Jimmy was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he lived most of his life. Jimmy worked for Union Pacific Railroad, last working as a signal inspector. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad nearly 40 years before retiring due to his health.

He is survived by LeCindie Downs, wife of almost 20 yrs, his four children; James A. Downs of Ohio, Daniel Downs (wife Marcia) of Fife Lake, MI., Michelle Morales of Las Vegas, and Alisha Downs of Las Vegas, a step son Ryan Spadt (wife Nicole) of Las Vegas, and brother-in-law, Dennis Pelligra of Fairmont, West Virginia.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Goldie (Flowers) and James W. Downs, his 3 sisters Linda Downs, Jackie Downs Pelligra and Patty Lynn Downs Ruiz, and his step mother Modena M. Redmon Downs.

Jimmy lived most of his life in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he enjoyed golfing, traveling or using his telescope to observe the moon. He will be missed by his family, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM, the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, followed by the committal service at 1:00 PM and then luncheon. All services will be at Palm Northwest Mortuary and Cemetery, located at 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
