James “Jimmy” Russell Cooper Jr., age 49, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021. James was born February 15, 1972 in Havre De Grace, MD to James and Victoria Cooper. When Jimmy was young, he loved baseball and made it to the All Star Team. He enjoyed karate and earned trophies from that. In 5th grade, he won a math competition that took him to the Nevada State Championship. He loved sports and even received his scuba certification.
Jimmy met the love of his life Cindy while working in the hotel/casino business. Their chemistry was immediate and they married. They have raised two beautiful children together, Cayla and Christian and have shared their love with many other family members and friends.
Jimmy loved sports, especially the Cowboys, Orioles and all sports of Penn State. More than any of those however, he enjoyed coaching Pop Warner Football for his son Christian and the community. Jimmy was a long haul trucker and enjoyed his time on the open road. The love of his country, his love for America, was strong and he was grateful for all those men and women that served.
Jimmy is survived by his parents, James and Vicki; his beautiful family, loving wife Cindy and children Cayla and Christian; granddaughter Mylan; Uncle Jeffrey and Aunt Liz, Aunt Missy, Aunt Stephanie and Step-Father Tony Ligotti. He also leaves behind a host of friends that loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life for James will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 South Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146.
