Jacob Troy Wright, son of Ernest Charles Wright, Jr, and Thelma J. (Binau) Wright was born on November 7, 1989 in Shenandoah, Iowa. “ Jake” unexpectedly left this earthly world on January 14, 2020, in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 30 years, 2 months, 7 days.
Growing up in Shenandoah, Jake attended the Shenandoah Community Schools. He graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 2009.
On September 21, 2013, Jake married, Julia Lekey, in Shenandoah, Iowa. Following their marriage they made their home in Shenandoah until moving to Hamburg, Iowa in 2015. Following the flooding in Hamburg in the spring of 2019 they relocated their family to Thurman, Iowa. Through the years, Jake worked at the Shenandoah Medical Center, Eaton Corporation and Casey’s in Shenandoah and most recently had become a diesel technician, working at Sapp Brothers - Percival and lastly for Interstate Truck Center.
Jake has always had a tender, caring heart since he was a small child. This love for humanity grew and matured right along with him. He would be the first person to offer help or lend a hand. If someone needed something he was right there even if he had nothing else to offer other than a hug, shoulder or an open ear for listening. His heart and home were always open to anyone who needed them. Jake never knew a stranger. He was old school kind, caring and respectful.
As a child and into adulthood, he had several hobbies. A hobby that really stands out, is that he was a collector. Not just any collector, but a collector of small odd trinkets; key chains, flashlight tools, dice, tiny figurines and other little objects. He enjoyed doing mechanical work, drawing and writing. Most of all, though, he loved spending time with Julia and his kids.
Preceding Jake in death were his paternal uncle, Chris Wright; maternal grandparents, Charles E. Binau, Sr, and Marcelene (Booher) Binau; and maternal aunt, Jessie (Irvin) Frohling. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Julia Wright and children, Megan, Taylor, Jada, Avery and Liam, all of Thurman, IA; father, Ernest “Chuck” Wright of Omaha, NE; mother, Thelma J.
