With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Isabel Ibarra, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched. She left us on her 86 years of life in her home in Las Vegas, Nevada the morning of January 16, 2022.
Born in Las Iguanas in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico on November 19, 1935 to her predeceased parents Gaspar and Nicolasa Ibarra. She was a little sister to her brother Heriberto. She had fond memories of running barefoot with her brother as a child in their small town. He gave her the nickname "Chita" short for muchachita which is what she was called by her family as a child.
Isabel is survived by her loving daughter Maria, her granddaughter Arlen and her five great grandchildren Felipe, Isabela "Maima", Alainy, Ileana and Trentin.
She traveled from her small town of Las Iguanas to Mazatlán to provide for her family. She would lovingly save her correspondence she kept with her dad in which he would remind her to write often and to stay close to God. Isabel, in her late 20's traveled to Tijuana making her a true city girl. Las Vegas, Nevada became her premanent home in 1983 when she came to provide support for her young family. "Abuela" let Maria and Arlen know she wasn't a very good cook but not to worry because as she would say "I will make the food with extra love so it will taste good". She has taught us so much about love and the importance of family. Abuela was always a hard worker that always tried to set a good example. She had a great sense of humor and that is something all her great grandchildren remember is her laugh. She could pose to a Snapchat filter or make a funny face just to get a giggle. Abuela will always be remembered for her kind heart and her generosity. There was nothing she wouldn't do to provide any requests, or little presents especially for her great grandchildren.
She will continue to be our guardian and continue to look over us from Heaven. We thank you Abuela for your sacrifices throughout your life, and for all your cares and every concern over us. We know you are in a better place, and we are truly grateful and thankful to the Lord that we had an Abuela as special as you in our lives. Abuela, you have gone to Heaven, and we are grateful you are now free from all pain and suffering. We will forever hold onto your memory in all our hearts and continue to proudly carry your legacy.
