He is survived by his children: "Big" Michael Martinez (Nancy), Elaine Roybal, Debbie Molina (Eddie), Inez Esquivel (Noah), Arlene Attar (Mo), "Little" Michael Martinez, Kathy Itani, Adrian Martinez (Lori), Marie Gallegos (Andy), Rita Stanley (Art), Connie Rivera (Robert), David Fresquez (Mary), his brother, Henry Martinez (Rose), dozens of grandchildren , great- great grandchildren and his devoted wife of 55 years, Odilia Martinez.
Inez was born on April 21, 1931 in Petaca, New Mexico to Teodoro and Femiliana. He raised his own family in Los Angeles, California and retired to Las Vegas in 1995.
His neighbors will remember seeing him on his daily walks; his presence was always a source of comfort and security. He was known as "Mr. Fix-It." He always had a project on the go and he would gladly show you his work; his extensive family-tree proudly displayed in the garage, a fixed up old truck , or his beautiful landscaping.
His greatest pride was his family, all of which he carried photos of in his wallet. They will remember his hugs, his humor, honor, humility, and his unwavering love.
As a grandfather, Inez, truly found his calling. Each grandchild knew a special relationship with him. Each grandchild knew they were his favorite. Each grandchild was right.
Inez leaves behind a strong legacy of love and integrity. He is someone we are all better for having known. He will be held in our hearts for his friends and family forever. May the memories be a blessing.
Corinthians 4:16-18
Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
