Henry Raymon McElroy

“Ray” was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in the South side. He joined the Air Force 8-7-1963. He arrived at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas 1-1-1964. He served in Vietnam from Feb 1966 to Feb 1967. He was a Crew Chief on F-105-D Thunderchief, 333rd Fighter Squadron. Honorably discharged with rank of SGT in August 1967.

Ray joined the Las Vegas Fire Department in August 1967. He worked at Station 1 for 22 years, Station 6 for 1 year. He was promoted to Engineer in 1984. He worked his last 10 years at Station 42, and retired in 2000, with 33 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Solee McElroy. Also, his children: Debbie Walker, Dave Krumm, Scott McElroy, Kristie Brown, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Ray passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by loved ones.

A visitation for Henry will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada 89131. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada 89131. A committal service will occur Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada 89131.

Henry will be laid to rest in Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 N. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, Nevada 89131; Garden of Peace.
