Henrietta V. Huddleston

In loving memory of Henrietta V Huddleston, she left us to be with the Lord on March 8, 2016; her family was beside her. Henrietta was born in Hartville, MO on December 16, 1938. As a young girl, she was raised in Springfield, MO. It was there she met and married her husband, Harold. They were married for 59 years at the time of her passing. They raised four children, Harold, Jr, Angel, Debbie and Martell. Henrietta graduated from Central High School in Springfield, MO and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where they had made their home for 39 years. She retired from teaching after 29 years and when Harold retired, they relocated from Iowa to Las Vegas. Henrietta was a Delta Sigma Theta Sorority sister. She was also a member of St. Paul AME Church. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, interior decorating, cooking and reading. She also enjoyed being a help to her family and friends in need. Whether it was a ride to a doctor’s appointment, to church or caregiving from an illness, Henrietta was readily available. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jewell Mae Farley; her oldest son, Harold James Huddleston, Jr.; her oldest grandson, Richard Millsap; and a step brother, Jimmy Thompkins. She leave behind her husband Harold, Sr.; three children, Angel Wilson, Debbie Armstrong and Martell Huddleston; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and eleven siblings who are her step brothers and sisters, Larry Johnson and Carl Davis, Jeanann Sigh, and Joyce Franklin, of Springfield, MO, Corneilus Davis of Rogerville, MO, Kenneth and King Davis, Jan Davis and Chris Davis of Huntsville, MO, and Timothy Davis of Mansfield, MO, and a host of other loved family members and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, from 2-4pm at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 S Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV. There will be a memorial service in her honor on Wednesday, March 16th at 1pm at Holy Trinity AME Church, 700 Lola Avenue, N. Las Vegas.
