Helen Brewer was born March 22, 1931, in Altheimer, Arkansas. She was one of eleven children born to Clarence and Claudia Brewer. Being the oldest with responsibility, often acting as a mediator in conflicts, she made decisions and ensured her younger siblings' well-being & safety.
During her younger years Helen developed a gifted talent and with her creative mindset she was able to design many different clothing pieces. Oftentimes she would go downtown look at different clothing stores and remake those pieces while adding her own style to them. Helen had the range of talent to recreate designer clothing to wedding dresses. After high school, Helen started working in the fashion & marketing industry at the Emporium in San Francisco where she developed a keen eye for fashion as she enjoyed shopping for quality pieces & in curating her wardrobe.
Following her move to San Francisco, Helen met the love of her life, Jordan Wright and their union produced two children, Dwight E. Wright, and Sherrie D. Wright. Jordan and Helen Wright and their two children lived in San Francisco for 10 years until they moved to their dream house in the Oakland Hills where they raised their children. Helen Wright was an amazing wife & mother and was known for her delicious sweet potato pie.
One of the most important things Helen also cared about was education. In her early 60s, she went back to college and completed her bachelorette degree at San Francisco State University. Helen Wright loved all sports, especially golf, basketball, and football. She was essentially a super fan for the Golden State
Warriors NBA team. Helen even went to several sports games and recent WNBA games to watch the Las Vegas ACES. While being an expert quilter, she enjoyed making different designed quilts. Helen also loved her home church Mills Grove and attended the services faithfully. Until relocated to Las Vegas and joined the First African Methodist Episcopal Church. Married for 65 years until Jordan made his transition June 30, 2020. She moved in with her beloved daughter Sherrie D. Wright and son-in-law Dr. Lonnie G. Wright.
She is survived by son Dwight E. Wright and Deidra Wright, daughter Sherrie D. Wright and her husband Dr. Lonnie G. Wright, four grandchildren... Sherrie N. Holmes, Daniel Wright, Demario Wright, Yasmine Wright, and host of great grandchildren, loving relatives, one brother Clarence Jr., six sisters... Ruth, Barbara, Jeanette, Peggy, Joyce, and Dorothy, and many friends.
