CORT BISHOP Cort Bishop, 84, of Las Vegas, passed away Jan. 24, 2012. He was born Jan. 5, 1928 in New York and was a 47-year resident of Nevada. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a chemical oil and tire petroleum jobber. Cort was a prominent Las Vegas businessman, cherished husband, father, and grandfather. He was a lifelong ELKS club member and was very active in community and business associations. He was preceded in death by his parents, H. Cortlant Bishop Sr. and Florence E. Van Riper-Vanderhoff. He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Carolyn Bishop; brother, Robert Bishop; and children, Hal Bishop, Elizabeth Bluff, Kevin Bishop, Keith Bishop, Kim Bishop, Cort Bishop, and Cameron Bishop; and ten grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31, with services following, both at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
