HAROLD E. ANDREWS, 72, formerly of Wellesley and Medfield, MA, passed away after a lengthy illness on February 22, 2015, in Las Vegas, where he had lived for the past eight years. Born in Ashland, Ohio, Dr. Andrews received degrees from the College of Wooster, the University of Missouri and Harvard University. A professor at Wellesley College for 35 years, during his tenure he also served as Chair of the Geology Department and Director of the Science Center. Married to his wife, Karen, for fifty years, he is also survived by two sons, Scott (and wife Rana) of Henderson, NV and Mark (and wife Laura) of Novato, CA as well as two grandsons, Charlie and August. In the tribute accompanying Wellesley College’s Pinanski Prize for Excellence in Teaching awarded to Dr. Andrews in 2005, he was described as “brilliant, funny and kind...the model liberal arts professor.”
