Gregory Alan Gibson was a modest man, quiet and observant in his ways. He was trustworthy and traditional in his approach to his life and in his relationships. Realistic about life, he was always at the ready, prepared to take on responsibility.
Gregory was born on April 26, 1970 in St. Louis, Missouri to Evelyn Couch and Larry Gibson. He was raised in Tucson, Arizona and was taught at a young age to be self-confident and dependable. These were traits that would serve him well throughout his life. As a child, Gregory was always staying active. He loved playing sports, especially football and basketball, and could always be found with his friends. In school, he found an interest in history and liked learning about the world. He graduated from Camelback High School in 1988.
Once he graduated, Gregory joined the United States Navy where he was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. He saw action during the Gulf War and achieved the rank of PC2/E5. Because he was a literal thinker who possessed a calm exterior, Gregory seemed to enjoy and thrive in the routines set forth by the military. His results-oriented approach to things made him committed to the job, and he understood well his role in serving his country.
After moving to Las Vegas, Gregory fell in love with Gisela Peay. He was devoted to her and their life together, giving Gisela his total commitment. He was a source of strength and worked hard to make sure she and his children never wanted for anything. Gregory was blessed with two daughters, Alexandra and Kylie. His family was rounded out by his many pets over the years. He had his dogs, River, Brooke, and Gee Gee; and his cats, Toya and Cassie.
For work, Gregory was an entrepreneur. He was employed for 30 years, and during this time he continuously showed how hard work and discipline can take you far. He was efficient and always paid careful attention to detail. Whenever he wasn’t working, he held a number of hobbies. He loved playing fantasy football, gambling, and playing soldiers. He also liked to stay fit, keeping his body healthy. Whenever it came to watching sports, he liked MMA, football, women’s softball, the summer Olympics, and many more.
Gregory loved his country, and was a strong supporter of the Republican Party. He was also a man of Christian faith. Gregory also loved visiting other countries and traveling the world. Some of his favorite vacations were trips to Spain and Turkey. Always a solid friend, he was fortunate to have numerous acquaintances and several very close friends during his life. His best friend in his adulthood, though, was Jimmy Puglia. It was not uncommon for Gregory to go beyond the call of duty for others, and he was committed to his friendships and valued the trust he placed in them.
Gregory Alan Gibson passed away on October 9, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada after fighting a brave battle against cancer. He is survived by his partner, Gisela (Peaches); his mother, Evelyn; his dad, Larry; and his daughters, Alexandra and Kylie. Services were held at Palm Southwest Mortuary. Commitment is a key word that can be used to describe the life of Gregory Alan Gibson. He was committed to living the life of a good man who was both practical and trustworthy. He was committed to the traditional values that he upheld his entire life. He committed himself to being a hard worker who expected the same effort in return from those around him. Most of all, he was committed to those he knew and loved, and he will be deeply missed.
