Glenda Wherry Moreno

Glenda Wherry Moreno passed away peacefully on February 16, 2018 at the age of 75. She was born January 22, 1943 in Northampton, England and had been a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada for 42 years. Glenda was a best friend to her loving husband, Joe, a listening ear for her three sons, a fun-loving grandmother to all of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a supportive sister to her sisters. Glenda managed the Human Resources department and payroll for the family business, Arms Recycling. When she wasn’t working, she loved having a White Russian to relax after a long day, listening to music and dancing, but most of all just spending time with her family and friends. Being a devout Catholic was very important to Glenda as well. She and her family were members of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church. In addition, she was a Eucharist Minister and an active member of the prayer group. She was also a member of the English Wives Club. Glenda’s contagious laughter and warm smile will be missed by her family and friends.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lily Wherry; sister, Thelma Fairey; and her great-grandson, Jaxx Gamez. Glenda leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Joe Moreno; three sons, Tony Moreno (Sonia), Martin Moreno (Margaret) and Larry Moreno (John Armantrout); eight grandchildren, Elycia Gamez (Jerry), Ruben Moreno (Lizeth), Christopher Morgan, Tristion Moreno, Michael Armantrout, Travis Needy (Savannah), Melissa and Joshua Needy; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Madge Keegan; and extended family members. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, February 26th at 1:00pm at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way, Las Vegas, NV 89107 and burial at 3:00pm at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S.
