Gilbert Sharp was born in Worthington, WV to Garrett Sharp & Rosetta Sharp (Glover) on November 28, 1933. He went to Hess Elementary School and Mannington Jr/Sr High in Mannington, WV. He married the most beautiful woman at the air force base Juanita Grams on December 18, 1963 in Oxnard, CA. and they had very beautiful and intelligent children that grew up to be very successful. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in October 1951 where he served 22 years. During his time in the USAF he was stationed in Greenland, Iceland, England, South Korea and several other states. While stationed in South Korea, he was assigned to the US Embassy as an advisor to the South Korean Air Force. Gilbert retired from the Air Force as a master sergeant in 1973 and moved with his family to Medina, OH where they lived for four years. In 1977 they moved to Las Vegas and resided here for the remainder of his life. Gilbert worked for Bendix Field Engineering which became Allied Aerospace while living in Las Vegas. Gilbert received his associates degree in business management from Clark County Community College in Las Vegas, NV
Gilbert enjoyed fishing, trips to Disneyland and watching westerns on TV. He was very involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents Garrett & Rosetta Sharp, Siblings: Jesse Hall, Pearl Sturm, Viola Sharp, Gladys Martin, Garrett (Junior) Sharp, Leonard Sharp and Glenna May Nuzum,
Gilbert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Juanita, children: Kim Correll (Mark), Mark Sharp, Deborah Whetstone (Darrin), Janet Hatton (Randy)
Grandchildren: Kassidy Whetstone, Heather Whetstone, and Hannah Whetstone.
Siblings: Vivian (Peggy) Odenheimer (Neil), Robert Sharp (Bobby), Dian Richards and Judy Richards.
Gilbert will be laid to rest at Palm Mortuary Eastern in Las Vegas, NV.
