Gilbert Munoz of Las Vegas passed away on November 17, 2013. He died peacefully at home with his loving wife beside him. He was born August 2, 1935 in Los Angeles, California to Edward and Patricia Munoz.
Gilbert proudly served his country and received his honorable discharge in 1957 from the U.S. Army 11th Airborne-Paratroopers Squad #503. He was a retired union sheet metal foreman and a member of Local 105 for 35 years. Gilbert contributed to the building of many icons on the Las Vegas Strip.
In 1986 he married his loving wife Carmen. He liked to travel and listen to the “Oldies and Jazz music.” He did some woodwork projects and liked going to the movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Patricia and his brothers, David, Danny, Robert, Hank, Bill and Edward.
He is survived by his loving wife Carmen of 27 years, his daughter Susan Munoz and his granddaughter Jeanette (Ceasar) Gaxiola and 4 great grandchildren, Emily, Issaiah, Alicia and Isabella. His sister, Celia Guerrero, along with nephews and nieces and sisters-in-law.
Memorial Service will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 4pm. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Parks & Cemeteries in Cypress, California.
