Gerald George Taylor, 79, of Las Vegas, passed away March 13, 2013. He was born June 22, 1933, in Hartford, Conn. Before moving to Las Vegas, Gerald served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He resided in Manchester, Conn. for many years, where he was the owner of General Glass Service, a youth soccer coach and a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 47. Gerald moved to Las Vegas in 1990 and worked as a bus driver for Cat Bus until his retirement in 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and George Taylor. Gerald is survived by his wife, Evelyn Longchamps Taylor; children, William Taylor, Susan Drummond and John Taylor; brothers, Jack and Robert Taylor; and sister, Mary Pinto. He also leaves behind five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St. Graveside services will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. N.
