Georgia Mae Polk, 88, of Las Vegas, passed away Aug. 5, 2011. She was born Dec. 20, 1922, in Louisiana, and was a resident of Nevada for over 60 years. She was a retired dry cleaning presser, and a long-time employee of City Laundry. She was preceded in death by nine siblings. Georgia is survived by her son, Leonard Polk Jr.; daughter, Wanda Howard; son, Ronald K. Polk; daughter, Gerthie L. Polk; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Second Baptist Church, 500 Madison Ave. Burial following at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
