George C. Hill, 79, of Las Vegas, went to be with his Beloved wife Dorothy and Our Lord, Tuesday, May 19, 2015. He was born April 17, 1936 in Arlington, Mississippi to William C. and Lottie L. (Stuart) Hill. Raised in Mississippi, George graduated from Arlington Vocational High School in 1954, and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. During the Korean War, George served honorably maintaining the fighter and bomber planes instrumental to the war effort. Following the war, George married the love of his life, Dorothy D. Dunn on April 5, 1956. George served another tour in the US Air Force, where they were relocated to Nellis AFB, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was Honorably Discharged as a Staff Sergeant, Fire Control Systems Technician, in 1962. They've called Las Vegas home ever since. He went to work for EG&G and retired after 30 years of loyal service in 1992. George was a wonderful husband, father and proud grand Paw-Pa; who loved spending time with his family, growing his tomato plants, hunting, fishing, the outdoors, going garage saleing, tinkering with electronics in his garage, and having a margarita while playing Mega Bucks. George was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy; his parents, and one brother Bill. He is survived by his daughter, Robbi (Guy); twin grandsons: Andrew and Matthew; and brother, Bob. A memorial gathering will be on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary located at 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. He will be laid to rest with his lovely wife in Philadelphia, Mississippi. The family wishes to thank Advanced Health Care of Summerlin and Nathan Adelson for extraordinary examples of human kindness. In lieu of flowers, George would want you to have a margarita and play Mega-Bucks in his honor.
