Our father, George J Ensor, of Henderson, NV passed away suddenly on May 28, 2022 from heart failure. This loss was completely unexpected leaving our family and friends shocked and deeply saddened. He will be truly missed in many ways.
George was born in 1937 to Ralph and Esther Ensor in St. Louis, MO. He attended Wenona High School in Wenona, Illinois and was passionate about football, basketball and golf. After graduating high school, he attended Western Illinois State College, where he earned his Math degree in 1955. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force and later transitioned to become an officer, separating in 1961 at the rank of Captain. He then worked for NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center, then later worked for, and eventually retired from NOAA.
George also loved to watch sports and loved watching his Chicago Bears, L. A. Lakers and the young up-and-coming golf players. He was a huge fan of music, particularly jazz.
He had a great sense of humor and could make you laugh even during challenging times. He battled with devastating illnesses for almost two decades. I believe his sense of humor developed from the difficulties he faced. I wish he were here to share a funny comment. Those memories are what we will carry in our hearts to get through this. He now joins his wife of nearly 50 years Elba Ch. Ensor who preceded him in death.
