George W. Brown, "GW," was born on November 3, 1927 in a Jewish Hospital in New York City, New York. He was the son of Lester and Ophelia Brown. GW was raised in New York. GW was raised with three siblings. He had two brothers, Lester and Carl, and one older sister Catherine. GW did well in college, as a result he earned his Bachelor's degree and continued to go for his Masters at UNLV. On November 11, 2011 GW married Marie Waechter-Brown at the Little White Wedding Chapel of Las Vegas, Nevada. GW was tenderhearted and sensitive, qualities that served him well in helping to nurture his family. GW was blessed with six children: one daughter, Dale and five sons, George Jr., Ricky, Adrian, Andre, Roney. They were also blessed with 16 grandchildren, Parissa, Biannca, Micah, Jonah, Dustin, Tashan, Dre, Nico, Caymbrea, Lida, Leda, Tristan, Brianne, Lindsey, Jaime, and Lauren; as well as 12 great-grandchildren. GW served in the military for 22 years and then pursued a career as a Personnel Manager at MIT, where he was employed for 19 years. GW was an Army veteran. He was in the Korean conflict as well as World War II. GW was a man who was dedicated and devoted to his faith. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church for 6 years. GW was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. His cat, Charlie, was a best friend for 7 years. His family was rounded out by his other dogs, all of which were also named Charlie. When GW's retirement finally came around 1993, GW handled it the way he usually did. He adapted and, like everything in his life, made it satisfying. George W. Brown passed away on October 2, 2013 at Nathan Adelson Hospice. GW fought a brave battle against prostate and lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, Marie; his sister, Catherine; his daughter, Dale; his sons, George Jr., Ricky, Adrian, Andre, Roney; his 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and another special person in GW's life, Danielle. Services were held at Palm Northwest Mortuary in Las Vegas. GW was laid to rest at the Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
