Genevieve Woods

Genevieve Woods, age 103, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Genevieve Woods was born March 13, 1921 to parents Lois Mae Parks and Clint Wood in Bluefield, West Virginia where she grew up and attended Bluefield State Teachers College. Genevieve moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1952. She obtained her Associates Degree in Dietetics from Cuyahoga Community College and worked 26 years for the Cleveland Clinic before eventually retiring and moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1982. In Las Vegas, she cared for her grandsons Jay D. and Brandon J. Thomas. Genevieve also worked for the State of Nevada through AARP until the age of eighty-eight.

Genevieve is the beloved mother of Monet Woods and the devoted grandmother of Jay and Brandon Thomas. She is the great grandmother of Lucien and Zander Thomas. She believed that she could live her dream through education, determination and hard work. Genevieve is greatly loved, and will truly be missed.

A graveside service for Genevieve will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
