Gene A. Rogers was born March 17, 1937 in Stamford, Connecticut. Although we don’t know much about his early years, we know that his years in Foster care and at Connecticut Junior Republic in Litchfield formed him into the man he became. He joined the United States Air Force and served as a Civil engineer for 26 years. As well as his continued service for 20 years with the Department of Defense. During that time he also earned his MBA from Southern Illinois. He was very proud of his work in the completion of the Solar Energy Farm at Nellis AFB. He was loved by his wife Marna of 54 years. Together they raised four children, Adam (Gillian) Linda (Ron) David (Winda) and April (Randy) He had 10 Grandchildren, Geoffrey, Rick (Lucy) Heather (Steve) Patrick (Taylor) Sean, Emily, Reagan, Sage, Addison and Alena. He was so thrilled when he became a great grandfather to Cameron and Jack.
He lived a beautiful life filled with many beautiful experiences. He loved to travel, listen to jazz, watch sports and musicals. During this difficult season, we believe that he would want you all to stay safe and keep smiling. The family will be having a memorial service at a later date.
