Gary Bronson Pollard

Gary Bronson Pollard, at the age of 81, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023. Gary was born in Denver, Colorado to Edgar Augustine Pollard Jr., and Betty Jane Bronson Pollard. He was born on April 5, 1942. He has two brothers, Stephen Edgar Pollard and Gene Augustine Pollard. Gary attended grammar school at John S. Park and then to Crestwood Elementary School until 8th grade. He went to Las Vegas Highs School and graduated in 1960. Gary worked at his father's drugstore "Sav-On Drug" then worked at Bank of Nevada as a Teller for one year. Afterwords, he went back to the drug store until he entered the U.S. Army Reserve from January 18, 1964, until January 18, 1969. Gary married Joanna Scaramosino on August 21, 1965. After three years of marriage, he took RCIA classes and became a Catholic. On January 1970, his first child, Jeffrey Bronson Pollard, was his first. Then on January 4, 1974, his second son, Jason Darren Pollard, was born. Gary attended college at Cornell University for two years and attended Community College of Southern Nevada for child development for four years as a part-time student. Gary was employed at Safeway as Department Clerk from September 1964 until he retired on May 21, 2003. Gary was involved in ushering at St. Viator's and coached their youth soccer team. Gary coached little league baseball for 5 years and volunteered by delivering Christmas toys through his Classic car club and volunteered feeding the homeless through the Las Vegas Catholic Worker on Wednesdays. Gary's hobby was his 1963 Chevy Nova antique car and participated in many car shows and won several awards. His other hobbies included reading, target practicing, car shows, bowling, cooking, and barbequing with friends and neighbors.

A committal service for Gary will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
