Freddie M Bevill

Freddie was united in holy matrimony to King David Bevill on December 25, 1946. Their marriage lasted until King’s death in 2003. To this union four children were born: Angela Diane Triche (Bevill), King David Bevill II, Carlton Kent Bevill, and Robert Lewis Bevill. They raised their children in Chicago, IL and moved to Henderson, NV in 1980.

Freddie confessed her belief in Christ at an early age and was active in church throughout her life. She was an avid reader of spiritual literature and supported various civic and charitable organizations. Above all, Freddie loved the Lord. She shared Him with everyone she knew. She extolled Him in relationships with her children, grandchildren, family, friends, colleagues, and associates alike. At the time of her passing, Freddie was a member of St. Matthew’s Baptist Church in Henderson, NV.

Freddie graduated from Moten High School in Marianna, AR as Valedictorian of her class. She continued her education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and Chicago State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Freddie continued to pursue her graduate studies in early childhood special education and administration at Chicago State University and the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

As a teacher for nearly 30 years, Freddie excelled in her chosen profession. She had a deep love for all children. In fact, in 2001, Freddie was the winner of the “Education Mother of the Year” award for Clark County, NV. Freddie was a master teacher who trained and mentored new educators. She received myriad commendations and honors from the Clark County School District, professional educational organizations and from Congressional Representatives and Senators serving Nevada.

Freddie was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Goldie; her husband, King; her brothers Stanford, Wilson Douglas, and Charles; her sister Jean; and her grandson, Scott Carlton Bevill.

Left to cherish her loving memory are: her daughter, Angela Bevill-Triche (Al) of Henderson, NV; her sons: King David Bevill II (Maria) of Las Vegas, NV; Carlton Kent Bevill (Carolyn) of Henderson, NV; and Robert Lewis Bevill of Henderson, NV; her grandchildren: King David Bevill III, Alexander Triche, Lauren Bevill, Brittani Bevill, Aaron Triche (Christina), Darrick Bevill, Anthony Triche, Lillian Bevill and Sabrina Bevill; her great-grandchildren: Adria, Keyauna, Alani, Kaylee, Venice, Avery, Kent, Kayman, and Bryson; and her sister, Mrs. Ernestine Boyd of Chicago, IL. She also leaves a host of beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, dear cousins, as well as friends and colleagues who are touched by her passing.

A reception for Freddie will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A committal service will occur Friday, January 6, 2023 from 1:20 PM to 1:45 PM at Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 6, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
