Franklin R. Wilcox, III (“Frank”) a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on April 14, 2024, at the age of 67 years. Frank was greeted in heaven by his parents, Franklin R. Wilcox, Jr. and Gwendolyn Wilcox. Frank is survived by his three daughters, Allyson, Sara and Kayley, his brothers, John and Steve, and countless extended family and friends.
Frank graduated from Western High School, class of 1975, and attended UNLV. Frank was an exceptional athlete. His passion for athletics and sports navigated him into sports officiating for youth, high school and collegiate sports in Southern Nevada. He finally settled into the construction field, working for various builders throughout the Las Vegas valley.
Frank dedicated his life to supporting his family and was a dedicated and doting father to his three daughters. His devotion to his daughters was unwavering with many infinite hours spent for long trips for dance recitals, competitions, concerts and athletic practices and events. Forever proud of his children, touting them as “his greatest accomplishments.” His entire world was his daughters and they gave him strength during the rough times and laughter and joy all of the time.
Frank was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. His legacy of love, laughter, wit and integrity will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences. Frank had a witty sense of humor that was readily available, whether or not the comment or timing was appropriate. He was always up for a good conversation.
Frank was a passionate storyteller, captivating everyone with his tales and imparting wisdom. It is impossible to write all the wonderful, hilarious stories, and the immense amount of accomplishments, loves, and hearts touched by Frank. For he truly loved his family and friends, each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it.
When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. His absence will be felt daily, his memory cherished and shared.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131. The service will also be available to be viewed on-line.
