FRANK PLEVO Frank "Jack" Plevo passed away peacefully March 30, 2013, having spent his final hours with his beloved dogs, Cinderella and Precious. Jack was born May 23, 1934, in Chicago. He played college basketball, prior to becoming a U.S. Army veteran of the Korea War, and then he lived in Arizona, where he was the proud owner of a racehorse. Jack moved to Las Vegas with his lifetime partner, John C. Kish, and they founded the Skyline Casino, located in Henderson, in 1974. Over the years, this Henderson landmark established quite a name for its great food and local flavor. Jack and John enjoyed their time as purveyors of the Skyline and, after Jack's retirement, he continued his friendships with past employees and patrons of the Skyline throughout his lifetime. Jack, with his bright blue eyes, great sense of humor and generous spirit, has so many dear friends, with whom he shared fabulous nights out and parties in his home, with his favorite drink, VO. The legacy Jack leaves, through his philanthropy in the areas of human rights and equality, education, and the care and support of animals, will impact so many for generations to come. Jack was preceded in death by his partner, John C. Kish; his beloved father and mother, Frank W. Plevo and Mollie Waldvogel Plevo; and his sister, "Puddy" Plevo. Services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, April 8, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Foundation in Clark County, Nevada, or to the Human Rights Campaign.
Arrangements under the direction of Palm Eastern Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
